Officials blame poor PLE performance on drunkard teachers
Officials in Buhweju District have blamed the poor performance in the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations on drunkard teachers who often fail to effectively execute their duties.
The district inspector of schools, George Sabiiti says a number of teachers in the district drink alcohol excessively which makes them fail to keep committed to their role of teaching.
He said that the department of education in the district is taking procedural steps to reign in on such teachers
Meanwhile, Francis Nuwajuna, the district secretary for health, education and CBOs says the district has embarked on the strict inspection of schools and more critically scrutinizing teachers at recruitment.
Buhweju district came 64th in the whole country with 167 first grades in the recently released 2020 PLE results.
